About the advisor
Piotr Mildner has forty years of experience in senior management positions in three global, family-owned pharmaceutical groups: Boehringer Ingelheim (Germany), Hoffman La Roche (Switzerland) and Polpharma SA (Poland).
For these companies he built representative offices, trading companies and production plants from scratch in Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Poland.
The corporate culture of family-owned groups, which he came to know throughout his working life, differed radically from the cultures of listed companies not held by a single family. Observing and working directly with shareholders, and even owners, of large family businesses let him see from a different perspective how owners and board members treat employees, how they show respect for customers and how carefully they adopt and apply the rules known as Core Values.
He believes that many of these principles and systems, carried over to Polish family businesses, would shed new light on the phenomenon of intergenerational succession. He feels a deep need to share this knowledge.
